Classic Connecticut Lobster Roll with Warm Butter

The Connecticut Lobster Roll features lobster meat served warm in melted butter and served on a sliced hot dog bun. Unlike other variations, such as the Maine Lobster Roll, this one relies on fewer ingredients and the touch of butter instead of mayonnaise. The Connecticut Lobster Roll is served warm.

Equipment

  • Frying Pan

Ingredients

  • 250 g lobster meat cooked
  • 2 hot dog buns brioche
  • 5 tbsp. butter
  • ½ lemon
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in skillet.
  • Slice open the hot dog buns and toast the insides in the skillet until golden brown, then set aside.
  • Melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter in the skillet over low heat and add the lobster meat.
  • Once the lobster meat is evenly coated with butter you can place it in the two hot dog buns and serve.
  • Optionally, you can season the Connecticut Lobster Rolls with salt and lemon juice.

Notes

  • Do not use too much butter. The lobster meat should only be coated with a light film of butter, not swimming in butter.
  • No celery or lettuce is used for a Connecticut Lobster Roll.
