  • 5 cl rum white (Cuban)
  • 2 tsp cane sugar white
  • ½ lime
  • 1 stem mint fresh
  • ice cubes (crushed ice)

Instructions

  • Halve the lime and wash and lightly dry the mint.
  • Squeeze the juice of half a lime into a glass.
  • Add 2 teaspoons of white cane sugar and 5 cl of rum to the glass.
  • Pluck the leaves from the stem of the mint and add them to the glass.
  • Fill the glass with 2/3 ice cubes and then pour mineral water until the glass is full.
  • Stir with a spoon or straw and then serve.

Notes

  • For a classic Cuban Mojito, white cane sugar is used instead of brown, as it dissolves much faster in the cocktail.
  • Also, a Cuban Mojito uses the juice of a lime and not the pieces of a lime in the glass. If you still want to use the pieces of a lime, then put 4 pieces of a quartered lime in your glass and squeeze them lightly with the pestle so that the juice comes out. It is important that you do not squeeze the lime pieces too hard, otherwise too many bitter substances will come out.
