Traditional Buffalo Wings - Frank's Red Hot Sauce with Butter
Buffalo wings are an absolute classic of American cuisine and are very popular all over the world. In this post, I'm going to share with you an original American recipe for traditional buffalo wings, where the signature Frank's Red Hot Sauce melts into creamy butter for that irresistible spicy flavor. These juicy and flavorful chicken wings are a must-try for all lovers of spicy finger foods and traditional American dishes.
Gently heat half a bottle of Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce in a saucepan or skillet.
Now add the cold butter to the sauce, piece by piece, and stir to form an emulsion. When the sauce has become nice and creamy, you can keep the sauce warm on low heat.
(Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.)
Using a knife or poultry shears, divide the chicken wings at the joint into flats and drums.
Deep fry the flats and drums in a deep fryer for 3 to 5 minutes, then drain on a paper towel.
Fry the drained chicken wings again for 3 to 5 minutes to get a nice crispy skin.
Lastly, add the finished fried chicken wings straight from the fryer to the sauce made with Frank's Original Red Hot and butter and mix well. The traditional Buffalo Chicken Wings from America are now ready to serve.
Notes
Use a 50:50 mix ratio of Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce and butter for a mild Buffalo Sauce.
For a hot Buffalo sauce you can use a mixing ratio of 2:1 Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce and butter.
