Traditional Oatmeal Pie for Thanksgiving

Ingredients
  

  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon ground
  • 250 ml corn syrup
  • 70 g butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 80 g oat flakes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180℃ (350℉).
  • Beat the eggs in the bowl until foamy.
  • Add the sugar, cinnamon, flour and salt to the eggs and beat well.
  • Add the melted butter, corn syrup and vanilla to the bowl along with the rolled oats and mix with the rest.
  • Put all the ingredients on the cake base in the cake pan and bake in the oven for 50 minutes.

Notes

  • Beat the eggs well to achieve an airy texture. This will help the cake rise nicely.
  • Keep an eye on the filling during baking. It should be firm, but still moist.
  • Allow the Oatmeal Pie to cool sufficiently before cutting.
