Where is the Mitterkaseralm at Watzmann?

The Mitterkaseralm at Watzmann is located at an altitude of 1408 meters on the hiking trail up to the Watzmann. The Kas is accessible from the parking lot Hammerstiel, in 83471 Schönau am Königssee, in 3 hours on foot, via hiking trail 444. From the hiking parking lot at the Wimbachbrücke, in 83486 Raumsau, the Mitterkaseralm can be reached in 2.5 hours on foot. You simply follow the excellent hiking trail 441 and reach the alpine hut on its way to the Watzmannhaus. The Mitterkaseralm at Watzmann is the second of the catered inns on hiking trail 441. Both Kaser huts invite you to have a snack or a refreshing drink.

When is the Mitterkaseralm at Watzmann open?

The Mitterkaseralm on the Watzmann has similar opening hours as the Stubenalm. In the summer months, from June to September, the Bavarian Kas is open from Tuesdays to Sundays. On Mondays, the Mitterkaseralm is closed. Like the Stubenalm, there are no overnight accommodations.
