Pulled Pork

Pulled pork is a barbecue classic from the USA and refers to tender, slow-cooked pork that is pulled apart with a fork.

Traditionally, the cut of meat, which comes from the shoulder of the pig, is rubbed with a BBQ rub and then slowly cooked at a low temperature over indirect heat until it is done and tender. The long cooking time ensures that the fat in the meat melts and the meat becomes juicy.

Once the meat is cooked, it is removed from the grill or smoker and plucked into fine pieces. It is then often mixed with a barbecue sauce and served on sandwiches or rolls. But the tender meat is also excellent as a side dish with rice, salad or potatoes.

In the USA, Pulled Pork is often served at parties and barbecues and is an absolute classic there. There are many variations of Pulled Pork, depending on which spices and ingredients are used. For example, some prefer a sweet barbecue sauce, while others prefer a spicy version.
